Friends of Specimen Vale (FOSV) is a passionate group dedicated to the celebration, preservation and enjoyment of the unique natural environment of Specimen Vale. We aim to:

· Foster a love for local nature

· Support conservation and restoration efforts

· Host engaging events and workshops

· Build a vibrant, inclusive community

The Specimen Vale Track meanders from Stawell St to Princes Streets in Ballarat East and is a much loved track (for both locals and interstate/international visitors). The FOSV have lovingly cared for this patch for many years and collaborate with partner groups such as First Nations Peoples, the local council, land care groups, local schools and geocachers.

Since 2019, fortnightly working bees have seen thousands of plants (indigenous to within a 40 km radius of Ballarat) planted, restoring the habitat for birdlife and other fauna. The group has enabled great friendships to be established and has a strong connection to land.
