Wattle Flat-Pootilla Landcare Group has been successful in obtaining a grant from RACV for the Slaty Creek picnic ground and Great Dividing Walking Trail community access and amenity improvement Project.
Located at Slaty Creek campgrounds in the Creswick State Forest, the project will include
 Understory planting around the Slaty Creek campgrounds
 Amenity improvements at campgrounds Number 2 and 3 with the installation of BBQs and interpretive signs
 Installation of bollards to prevent vehicle access in vulnerable areas
 Weed control
 Development of a signed pathway from the Creswick Forest Resort to Slaty Creek Picnic ground and Great Dividing trail.
The first planting day will be held on Sunday 11th September from 10.am to Noon with a BBQ to follow. The project will also partner with Parks Victoria to complete some of the installation works.
The Slaty Creek campgrounds are very popular with overnight campers and day trippers and the proposed works will provide some much-needed improvements and restoration to the area.
